A Look Back at the 2003 Dinner ...

The 18th annual National Quarterback Club Awards Dinner was held at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC on May 23, 2003.  Dick Stockton (Fox Sports) and wife Lesley Visser (CBS Sports) were the masters of ceremonies for the gala.

The 2003 award-winners included Hall of Fame Award recipient Jim Kelly (formerly of the Buffalo Bills); NFL Quarterback of the Year Rich Gannon (Oakland Raiders), Collegiate Quarterback of the Year Carson Palmer (University of Southern California), National High School Quarterback of the Year Chris Leak (Independence High School, Charlotte, NC), Local High School Quarterback of the Year Ryan Mitch (DeMatha High School, Hyattsville, MD), Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Bobby Mitchell, a former Redskin player and assistant general manager; Humanitarian Award recipients Charles Mann and Art Monk, and Quarterback of Government Award recipient Senator George Allen (R, VA).        

In addition, Redskins Head Coach Steve Spurrier, NBC's Meet the Press host Tim Russert, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton, Army Lt. Gen. Dennis Cavin, "Remember the Titans" subject Herman Boone, The Spencer Foundation's Maurice Spencer and former Redskin Ken Harvey were in attendance to support the National Quarterback Club, while sports impressionist Scott Moore entertained the audience at halftime.
