The 21st annual National Quarterback Club Awards Dinner will be held at the Capital Hilton, 16th and K Street, in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, July 22nd at 6:00 pm. The dinner will be black-tie formal and proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, D.C., the YMCA, The Rock Foundation, and the Washington Post Newspaper in Education (NIE).
We will be honoring quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, recipient of The NFL Quarterback-of-the-Year Award. Vince Young from the NCAA Champion University of Texas, is the recipient of The National College Quarterback-of-the-Year Award. Tim Tebow from Nease High School in Jacksonville, FL, is the recipient of The National High School Quarterback-of-the Year Award. In addition, Jerome Bettis of the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award; Bill Cowher head coach of the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers will receive the NFL Coach of the Year Award; Ahman Green of the Green Bay Packers will be honored as the Humanitarian of the Year for his outstanding commitment to the community; and Tim Strachan, University of Maryland football sideline reporter will be honored with the inaugural Pat Tillman Courage Award.

Master of Ceremonies, Brett Haber
Brett Haber joined W*USA 9 in 2004 as Sports Director and on-air anchor. For the previous year-and-a-half, Mr. Haber hosted the “Brett Haber in the Morning” radio program on Washington’s Z104-FM. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Haber was the Sports Director at WTTG-TV, DC’s Fox affiliate. Haber received the Capital Region Emmy award for Outstanding Sportscaster in all three years of his tenure at WTTG, as well as the National Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence in sports journalism for reporting on such stories as the FBI’s pursuit of rampant sports autograph fraud. He also reported on the trials of former Washington Redskin David Kopay and his battle as a gay NFL alumnus. From 2000 to 2003, Haber was the Sports Director and primary sports anchor at WCBS-TV in New York where he covered a wide variety of sports events including multiple World Series, Super Bowls, Stanley Cup Finals, NBA Finals and championship parades. He hosted the New York Yankees pre-game show and was the play-by-play voice for the New York Jets during their pre-season schedule. During that time Haber also served as a correspondent for CBS Sports, working as a sideline reporter for NCAA basketball and hosting the network’s studio update desk known as “The Fidelity CBS SportsDesk”. Haber also broadcasts for the Outdoor Life Network. He is OLN’s lead play-by-play announcer, covering such events as PBR Bull Riding, cycling and the annual Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Haber has continued his relationships with both OLN and CBS Sports. From 1994-1997, Haber was a fixture at ESPN as one of the hosts of “SportsCenter,” that network’s flagship news program. Haber was teamed with Craig Kilborn, now the host of “The Late Late Show” on CBS. In addition to his anchor duties, Haber was the network’s chief tennis correspondent and contributed to the Peabody-award winning issues program “Outside the Lines”. Mr. Haber is a board member of the Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation for brain tumor patients and their families. He is also a consultant for “Nike” Tennis where he leads grassroots tennis programs for children around the country. Mr. Haber resides in Washington, DC with his wife Jennifer and their son Taylor.
